Brought to you in collaboration with the CEIU National Young Workers Committee.
Term freezes and workforce adjustment have created a climate of uncertainty for all our members.
Cuts to Canada’s federal public service impact all workers and our communities, but young workers will be particularly affected. Young workers are overrepresented in term employment, and these cuts will impact job opportunities in the public service for many years to come.
CEIU will continue to advocate for our members who are term employees and to push the employer to reduce its reliance on terms and create permanent, stable jobs.
While we fight back, we also want to provide resources to support you and your career development in this turbulent time.
Career Development
Whether you are impacted by cuts or not, career development resources can help you. Consider opportunities to enhance your skills, including:

- Union opportunities: getting involved in your union is a great way to build your skills and further your career! Make sure your contact information is up-to-date at ceiu-seic.ca/join to get updates. You can also contact the CEIU National Young Workers’ Committee.
