CEIU members at the Immigration and Refugee Board have recently been concerned by media stories about their colleagues and racism in the workplace.

CEIU stands firmly against racism of any kind, and will always work hard to ensure that every member of our union has fulsome and effective representation when they need it – this is the heart of our responsibility to our members.

As a union, we will also be working hard to push the employer to take real steps to address institutionalized racism that is embedded in years-old government policies. Individuals have an important role to play in the fight against racism, real progress comes with profound and significant changes to institutions.
