This month marks the third holiday season that we have suffered under the debacle of the Phoenix pay system with no relief in sight. It seems that our employers still do not comprehend what it means to be, once again, going into the holidays uncertain about how much we will be paid for our labour, or even if we will be paid at all!
On Christmas Eve, our CEIU National Executive will be communicating another, formalized, surprise gift to the employer. Stay tuned to our national website as December 24th approaches!
In the meantime, we thought of a good way to remind them about this very real problem which needs to be fixed immediately. In the spirit of the holidays, and as a way for CEIU members to send their departmental Ministers a personalized, holiday message about Phoenix, we invite our members to join us by sending a lump of coal to their employer – personally delivered by the National President and National Executive Vice-President of CEIU.
