As indicated in the last update published on our site in July 2024, the hearing of the policy grievance, filed on March 29, 2019, did indeed take place, in person in Ottawa, this Thursday, September 12, 2024, before the Treasury Board Secretariat (TBS).
At the hearing, we agreed to extend the response deadline by 30 days, given the wealth of information that TBS will have to analyze. The original deadline of October 28, 2024, has therefore been extended to December 10, 2024. Until then, it has been agreed that CEIU will follow up with TBS.
It should be noted that this policy grievance concerns two different groups of employees immediately following ESDC’s February 22, 2021, decisions:
- Current Incumbents (since or after September 13, 2018) of positions involving pension and integrity operations, affected by the new Program Services Officer (PM-01) job description, whose salaries were adjusted from CR-04 to PM-01, and who did not file a grievance. Although the employees in question have since received their salary adjustments, many of them have only received part of their retroactive payments.
- Employees who did not file a grievance regarding the content of the job description for their PSDC position between 2008 and September 13, 2018, who performed the duties of Program Services Officer (PM-01) of Pension or Integrity Operations and who left their position before September 13, 2018.
CEIU will issue a further update when it receives the TBS decision.
